Leadership Rooted in Service, Integrity, and Community
Born and raised in Sugar Land, Michelle Mikeska has dedicated her life to serving others, both in the classroom and her community. For five years, she inspired and mentored students as a teacher at Houston Christian High School, cultivating a love for learning and growth. Her service extended beyond education when she became the College Pastor at Sweetwater Christian Church, where she spent five years guiding young adults and fostering spiritual growth.
Her professional journey has also included administrative roles, where she developed valuable leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. These experiences shaped her commitment to community service and her desire to create meaningful, positive change. A strong advocate for justice, Michelle has worked with diverse coalitions to promote peace and equity. She believes in speaking up against injustices and being a voice for the voiceless, no matter the community.
This passion for advocacy is rooted in her faith and values, which drive her to act with integrity, humility, and a focus on building bridges across divides. Outside of her professional life, Michelle is the proud wife to Zack, her husband of 15 years. In 2018 they adopted their son Malachi who is currently 6 years old and thriving in his first year of kindergarten at Highlands Elementary. Her role as a mother has deepened her understanding of the challenges and opportunities that families face, further inspiring her to make Sugar Land a city that works for everyone.
